The first self-service bar in Jeseniky

Imagine you walk in a forest.  You are very hungry and thirsty. There are no snack-bars or places where you can make a fire. But, suddenly, you see a bar. You want to buy something there. But there is no shop assistant. What do you do?

You can encounter a bar like this in Jeseniky. It is a self-service bar. This means that you can choose what you want. After that, you must pay. But there is no staff, so you must put your money into a metal box.

The bar is open nonstop. It offers all sorts of refreshments, including beer. You can even brew tea or roast a sausage there. The prices are low and only recommended.

“I want to help tourists who go hiking,” the founder of the bar says. “You can say that the bar is a test of your honesty,” he adds. “But all the visitors really pay!”

The first self-service bar opens in Jeseniky

Imagine yourself being in a forest. You are thirsty and literally starving. But you are not likely to find any regular snack-bars or fireplaces anywhere near. All of a sudden, you spot a bar, so you decide to purchase something to eat there. But something is wrong – there is no staff. What do you do now?

You can come across a bar of such kind in Jeseniky. It is a so-called “self-service” bar. This essentially means that you can choose whatever you wish to buy. The self-service aspect includes even paying. There is no shop-assistant, so the only thing you have to do is to put your money into a metal box.

The bar is open nonstop and offers a large variety of refreshments, including beer. Moreover, it is possible to brew tea or roast a sausage here. The prices are low and only recommended.

“It is meant for tourists. I wanted to make their hiking more enjoyable,” the founder of the bar says. “It is simply a test of your honesty because paying depends on you,” he adds. “But all the visitors pay, indeed!”

Difficult words:  starving: very hungry, all of a sudden: suddenly, happening, coming, or done very quickly in a way that is usually not expected, spot: to notice someone or something, to be meant (for): to be intended (for), depend on: rely on, to put trust in with confidence, indeed: really.
